Inscription:

Here under lyeth Sir John Parker Knigt who deceased ye 15 day of October 1617 in the 70 yere of his age being never maried. He was younger brother to Sir Nicholas Parker of Ratton in Willingdon Knigt, and he was many yeres of ye Gentlemen Pencyoners to Quene Elizabeth and Kinge James: and Kinge James by his Letters Patent, made him Captaine of Pendenis Castle, Cornwall, which he enjoyed untill his death.
