This building was founded by Rev J N Goulty in 1864 and replaced in 1891 by the present building. The church closed in 1918 and it became the King's Cliff Cinema in 1920 and was later the Playhouse Theatre, then the Playhouse Cinema and then the Continentale Cinema, the conversion to the last being undertaken by Denman and Matthews. It is now converted to residences. According to Elleray (1981) part of the iron chapel survives at the west end.
