Dedicated by the Bishop of Chichester on 18th June 1876. R J Streatfield gave the land and some of the funds. E T Cardale, Rector of Uckfield, also donated. The altar, altar rails and Angel window were all all moved to Holy Cross Church following demolition and installed in a chapel in that church.
