Notes:

In 1902, after St John the Evangelist's Church was built in the Hollington suburb, St James's Church became a chapel of ease to it. St James stood behind houses in Battle Road.
After closure it had various uses, including a factory which housed "Ponda Puzzles" (1956). On the 4th December 1965 it was destroyed by a major fire. The site is now covered by garages and a block of flats.
