Notes: Post office is on the right, the baptist chapel is one of the buildings on the left. Many thanks to Jane Seabrook for allowing me to share this image who tells me that the Baptist Chapel was built in Victorian times by one of the gentry, when he became too old or unwell to make the weekly Sunday trip by horse and carriage to Lewes to attend the Jireh Chapel there. The services were apparently two hours long. Which building is the chapel is unclear, although it is possibly the one with two gables in the mid-distance.
