Will of Joan Langridge of Fletching

In the name of God Amen I Joan Langridge of Fletching in the County of Sussex widow being in good health and of sound and perfect mind and memory God Almighty be praised therefore and calling to mind the certainty of my death and the uncertain time when do make ordain and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I yield and assign my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it hoping to be saved through the merits of Jesus Christ my Blessed Saviour and redeemer And my body I commit to the earth from whence it came to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrices hereafter named in the churchyard of Horsted Keynes in the said county And touching the disposition of that worldly estate which it hath pleased God to bless me withal I will give and dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I will give and devise All that my freehold lands [illegible] with all and every the appurtenances thereunto belonging or ?otherwise appertaining situate lying and being in the parishes of West Hoathly and Horsted Keynes in the said county of Sussex and containing by estimation twenty acres be in more or less commonly called or known by the name of Westlands unto my three daughters Mary Anne and Joan and to their heirs forever (subject nevertheless to the paying of my just debts and legacies) Item I give and bequeath unto my three grandchildren Richard, John and Elizabeth Parris fifteen pounds apiece to be paid unto them as they shall severally attain the full age of one and twenty years and in case either of them shall happen to die before he she or they shall attain to the age of one and twenty years the legacy of him her or them so dying shall be paid to the survivor or survivor of them and my express will or meaning is that my son in law Richard Parris shall have or receive the fourth part of the rent of the said lands called Westland for the use and benefit of my said three grandchildren till they attain their full age as aforesaid (in case he continue unmarried and so long live) but in case he marry or happen to die before my said grandchildren come of age as aforesaid then my will and meaning is that my son John Langridge shall afterwards receive the fourth part of the rent of the said lands for the use of my said grandchildren till they attain their ages as aforesaid Item I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary one pair of sheets and one pair of pillowcoats Item I give to my said daughter Anne twenty shillings and I give to my said daughter Joan my gold ring All the rest and residue of my goods and chattels and personal estate whatsoever (my debts legacies and funeral expenses being first paid and discharged) I will give and bequeath unto my said three daughters Mary, Anne and Joane who I make constitute and ordain Executrices of this my last Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke ?disannul and make void and former Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the thirtieth day of August in the twelfth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord William the Third by the Grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the Faith etc Anno Dni 1700 (Joan Langridge her mark) Signed sealed published and declared in the presence of William Langridge his mark John Pucknoll his mark Robert Langridge
