At the beginning of the 19th century the Strict and Particular Baptist Chapel at Shovers Green was built for an expanding congregation at Burwash. The building, originally of timber, was considerably altered in 1876, the timberwork being replaced by brick. It was sold in the 1970's and is now an attractive private dwelling.
