The following Address of the Mayor, Burgesses and Inhabitants of the Borough of Arundel has been presented to the King by Thomas Fitzherbert, Esq; one of the Representatives in Parliament for the said Borough, being introduced by the Lord of His Majesty's Bedchamber in Waiting: Which Address His Majesty was pleased to receive very graciously. To the KING' S Most Excellent Majesty, The humble Address of the Mayor, Burgesses and Inhabitants of the Borough of Arundel, in the County of Sussex. Most Gracious Sovereign, WE, your Majesty's dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Mayor, Burgesses and Inhabitants of the ancient Borough of Arundel, beg Leave to approach your Majesty's Throne with our most sincere Congratulations on the happy deliverance of your Majesty from the daring Attempt which so lately endangered your Royal Person. Sensible of the many and important Blessings we enjoy under the mild and equitable Government of your Majesty, we are happy on this Occasion to express our Joy at the Interference of Divine Providence, in preserving a Life so very essential to the Happiness and Prosperity of all your Majesty's Subjects ; and we join with the general Sentiments of your People, in testifying our utter Abhorrence of so daring and impious an Attack. We sincerely pray, that the same Almighty Power Which has hitherto preserved, will long continue to as the invaluable Blessing of your Majesty's Life ; and that your Illustrious Family may continue to reign over the Hearts of a free, happy, and united People, to the latest Posterity.
