SS. MARY MAGDALENE AND DENIS. Restored in 1882. This church was formerly a chapel of the priory of Easebourne. The tower (late 12th c.) is the best feature of the present building (Perp.). The Montague chantry no longer contains the tomb of Lord Montague, which has been removed to Easebourne. Note: trace of mural painting on wall of tower; fine tie-beams in S. aisle; fine old Italian needlework hangings (presented some fifty years ago); old chest. Font, square Nor. The curfew bell is still rung here. Reg. 1563.
