ST. DUNSTAN. The orginal church, with the exception of the tower (E.E.), was destroyed by fire in 1389. The present building is Perp. The S. porch is vaulted, and has a chamber above it. There are two piscinae; a squint; four iron slabs, two to the Sands family (1671 and 1708); 18th c. metal chandeliers; some good carved woodwork in stalls; and remains of screen. Font dated 1666. The curfew is still rung here from Michaelmas to Lady Day. Reg. 1570.
