ST. JOHN. This church has Tr.-Nor. nave with fine pillars; Dec. chancel with fine oak roof. Note: piscina; sedilia; E. window (restored), Dec., with arms of several families; old oak seating; old glass. Font, Dec., with octagonal bowl, and eight shafts which have elegantly carved foliated capitals. The W. tower is fine. Roman pottery has been found under the church. Reg. 1656.
