Notes:

Uckfield's first RC church was at Ringles Cross, under the patronage of the Dutchess of Norfolk. In the early 1880s a temporary iron church and attached school was erected on a three-quarter of an acre site in Church Street. A more permanent structure was built, according to Elleray, in 1885 (although Fuller & Turner cite 1896). This building was replaced by new church with same dedication 1957 - 61 at a new site in New Town.
